We recommend a speed of at least 1200 RPM to begin cutting. Any drill, except a 1/2" type will suffice. Bear in mind though, that the faster the Handi Disc spins, the better it will cut. The arbor supplied with the package is rated to 3600 RPM, while the wheel itself is rated to 10,000 RPM. Don't limit yourself to using the Handi Disc solely on a hand drill. The Handi Disc may be used on a circular saw, bench grinder, table saw, or any other tool that accepts a 7" blade and conforms to the RPM restrictions. Always use the rubber pressure washers included with this package.

If you don't have access to any tool other than a drill we recommend you place the drill in a vice for two-hands free cutting jobs.

Use common sense. Treat the Handi Disc as you would any other tool.

Should the wheel become jammed, stop and begin cutting again. Forcing the wheel will only cause damage to it. Likewise, should the wheel begin jumping, stop and begin cutting again.

Glass edges can be beveled with the Handi Disc, but glass cannot be cut because the vibrations from the machinery will shatter the glass.

Tile is tricky, but follow these guidelines (with a little practice) you'll be cutting tile like a pro. Tape, on the glazed side, the area to be cut. This will help prevent the glaze from chipping. To remove mounted tile, cut on the grout lines and pry the tile off.

Use the above taping method when cutting marble, slate, or other like materials. It is not necessary to tape Corian, Fountainhead, and the like. The Handi Disc does not heat up. It will not melt these materials.

Cut the laminate and paneling with the shiny side up to prevent chipping.

When cutting any tubing, make an effort to open up the cut so the tubing doesn't bind the wheel and make it work harder than necessary.

For cutting bricks and blocks, it's easier and quicker to score the circumference of the item about 1/2" deep and snap it, rather than attempting to cut through the entire block. Sand any rough breaks smooth with the side of the wheel.
